KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs are a lesser team than they used to be, but not because Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez was traded to Atlanta.
Since first-year head coach Todd Haley began his offseason conditioning program last March, the Chiefs have lost about 338 pounds of unwanted fat. Haley figures the average for most NFL teams is about 125 to 150 pounds.
Much of it melted away from once-tubby offensive lineman Branden Albert. He's lost more than 30 pounds and says he feel better in just about every way.
