KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - A tanker truck flipped onto its side Monday morning, spilling chemicals and forcing the evacuation of several downtown businesses.

The truck overturned just after 9 AM near the downtown square by the Daily Dunklin Democrat, spilling an unknown amount of liquid fertilizer. Hazmat teams sealed off the area and evacuated multiple buildings in the area.

No injuries have been reported. A spokesman for Kennett Police says the driver is believed to be ok.

Kennett police say the 18-wheeler broke a rear axle and flipped on its side. It was carrying 3,500 gallons of liquid fertilizer.

Kennett police, Missouri State Police, hazmat crews and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources all responded to the incident.
