JONESBORO, Ark. -- A man who was convicted of murdering his wife in Jonesboro ten years ago has asked for executive clemency from Governor Mike Huckabee. Dan Verdict was found guilty of shooting his ex-wife Marcella Kelley in their home. The state department of corrections inmate is asking the post prison transfer board to recommend the clemency because he says he was poorly represented by his attorney during his 1992 trial. The board members will meet tomorrow and if executive clemency is recommended the request will be submitted to the governor for approval.
