Arkansas roller coaster ride to end in Omaha

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas baseball team is headed to Omaha. The Razorbacks left Wednesday en route for the College World Series.

The Razorbacks open the double-elimination event against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday. That will be the first game of the College World Series, so the Hogs won't have to sit around waiting to play. Arkansas advanced through its super regional with two victories over Florida State.

This is Arkansas' first College World Series appearance since 2004.

The Razorbacks' season has been a roller coaster. They were ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball in April but struggled down the stretch, finishing 14-15 in Southeastern Conference play during the regular season.

They've bounced back with five straight wins in the NCAA tournament.
