DREXEL, Mo. (AP) - The Cass County town of Drexel is struggling to recover after high winds and heavy rains knocked out power, downed treed and caused extensive damage.
There were no early reports of injuries.
Drexel Fire Chief William Harper said the main concern Tuesday morning was getting power restored. He said the town's water plant will run out of water if power isn't restored sometime Tuesday afternoon.
Harper said some buildings were destroyed and many others had roofs blown off. He said trees are down throughout the town and many roads are flooded.
The National Weather Service has not yet determined if the damage was caused by a tornado or by straight-line winds.
