Lohse takes small step in rehab from injury

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse (lohsh) made 10 throws from 120 feet on Tuesday, taking a small step forward in his rehab from a forearm injury.

Lohse has thrown twice since going on the 15-day disabled list for a flexor strain to his pitching arm. He expects a few more long-toss sessions before he'll be ready for a bullpen session.

Lohse missed one start after getting hit by a pitch on the forearm in late May, then aggravated the injury making a diving defensive play on a bunt.

Lohse and the Cardinals want to make sure he's 100% before he pitches again.

The righthander won't even commit to a return before the All-Star break, saying the last start showed he must be cautious in his rehab.
