Teachers accused of cheating on license exam

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University police say four people are accused of impersonating students when taking a teacher licensing exam, including a 60-year-old whose ID said he was 29.

Testing officials complained to university police Saturday while two of the alleged impersonators were still taking the exam. Police identified one of the test takers as 60-year-old John Bowen. He said he and three other test takers were paid $200 to take the tests for other people.

Bowen said the other three picked him up in Memphis, Tenn., in a white SUV. University police stopped a suspect vehicle in a parking garage, but the occupants refused to provide IDs and fled. Police have IDs on two of them. ASU has banned Bowen from its campus.
