NEW YORK (AP) - Sheryl Crow will headline a fundraising concert during All-Star game weekend in St. Louis as part of Major League Baseball's commitment to participate in President Barack Obama's United We Serve initiative.
The free concert will take place under the Gateway Arch on Saturday, July 11, the culmination of a daylong celebration of baseball history. Baseball will donate $1 million to Stand Up to Cancer and fans will also be encouraged to donate.
The concert is part of a series of charitable events and activities leading up to the All-Star game, which is being played in St. Louis on July 14.
President Obama is urging people to help in the nation's economic recovery by volunteering in their communities this summer.
