Middle Tennessee receiver suspended for season

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Middle Tennessee receiver Eldred King has been suspended for the 2009 season for unspecified discipline issues.

The Daily News Journal reported Tuesday that King has been arrested three times since March and pleaded guilty to two separate charges of domestic assault.

Police said he kicked and punched a woman in a May 1 incident, choking the victim until she was unconscious.

Court documents stated King on March 1 busted a woman's lip and left bruises on her head.

King will still have a year of eligibility left, and coach Rick Stockstill said in a statement he would consider letting him play in 2010 if he adheres to a set of guidelines.

Last season, King tied the team's lead with 51 receptions for 598 yards and four touchdowns.
