MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies need more help on offense, so they have selected Missouri forward DeMarre Carroll with the 27th overall pick in the NBA draft.
Carroll helped Missouri win the Big 12 title and reach the regional final of the NCAA tournament in his senior season.
The Grizzlies started their draft by picking 7-foot-3 Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut with the No. 2 pick to help improve their defense with his shot-blocking skills.
Memphis also had the 36th pick left in the draft.
