TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Trey Hearne allowed one run in six innings and hit an inside-the-park home run as the Springfield Cardinals beat the Tulsa Drillers 10-2 on Friday.
The 1-game tiebreaker decided the Texas League's North Division first-half title and gave Springfield a berth in the AA league's playoffs. Both teams had ended the first half with 38-32 records.
Mark Hamilton went 2 for 5 with four RBIs while Tyler Henley went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Cardinals. Both also homered.
Hearne's inside-the-park homer started a three-run sixth inning that gave Springfield a 7-1 lead. On the mound, Hearne (8-1) allowed four hits, walked four and struck out one.
Jhoulys Chacin (6-6) gave up eight hits and six runs in 5 1-3 innings for Tulsa.
