MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Memphis is gearing up for a hefty schedule to go with renovations at it's baseball stadium.
When the Tigers return to the field in 2010, they'll do so with $3 million in upgrades to the facility and games against perennial Conference USA opponents and NCAA regional participants Rice and East Carolina.
The Tigers will play eight teams that earned spots in the NCAA Tournament when the season starts Feb. 20. Also scheduled are Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Tech, both of whom played in the NCAA Tournament.
Tigers' coach Daron Schoenrock told The Commercial-Appeal the tough schedule is by design and one he hopes aids the program's attempt to reach the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years.
