Arkansas State bowling coach steps down

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State women's bowling coach Chris James has stepped down.

James had held the position since 2004-05, the program's first season. He is leaving to go into ministry work.

"I'm very appreciative to ASU and (athletic director Dean) Lee for allowing me to help start the women's bowling program," James said. "There have been a lot of people in place that have helped me throughout the last five years and I want to thank the entire ASU staff."

Arkansas State was the national runner-up in 2008.
