Alabama pitcher transfers to Harding

SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - Harding University has signed a pitcher who will transfer from Alabama so he can join his brother on the Bison team.

Harding announced Thursday that 6-foot, 180-pound right-hander Patrick Nappi will join his brother Jason at the Searcy campus next season.

Nappi has one season of eligibility left. He redshirted in Alabama in 2008 and did not play for the Crimson Tide in the season that just ended. Prior to Alabama, Nappi played two seasons at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Ala. As a sophomore he made 27 relief appearances and posted a 4-2 record with three saves and a 2.58 ERA.

Patrick Nappi's brother Jason transferred from Mississippi State earlier in the summer.
