FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas basketball coach John Pelphrey says Jason Henry will not return to the Razorbacks next season.
Pelphrey said Sunday that Arkansas officials have worked with Henry "on a day-to-day basis" to help him grow as a student-athlete and a person.
But Pelphrey says that while Henry has made academic progress, it is in the best interest of the program that Henry not return. Pelphrey says he wants players who have a "long-term commitment" to the university and its basketball program.
Henry is from West Memphis. He played in 23 games as a freshman, starting twice, and averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
