NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - About 70 colleges and universities will be represented later this week in the national college bass fishing championship on the Arkansas River.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is the defending champion and is host of this year's event, which will feature about 140 anglers. The event begins Friday and ends Sunday.
Organizers say the event has grown from six sanctioned teams in 2005.
The college anglers will compete for more than $15,000 in scholarships and prizes.
Tournament waters will be restricted to Arkansas River Pools 5-7.
