Royals infield gets mid-season makeover

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Third baseman Alex Gordon and newly arrived shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt will be in the lineup Friday night when the Kansas City Royals get started on the season's second half.

It will give the Royals, who had a disappointing first half, a whole new look on the left side of the infield. Gordon was injured on opening day and played only a few games before going on the disabled list and having hip surgery.

Betancourt, once considered the league's top shortstop prospect, was acquired in a trade last week. He had been on the DL with a hamstring injury.
