CORNING, Ark. -- A probable cause hearing was held Tuesday for a Clay County man suspected of shooting his neighbor to death.

Kelly Thatch, 32, was shot to death Sunday on her front porch at the Westwood Acres apartment community in Corning.

Forty-two-year-old James Dallas Qualls was arrested by police for the shooting. He lives in the apartment complex adjacent to Thatch's building.

Acting on a tip, police arrested qualls at his apartment where they say they also confiscated a possible murder weapon. No bond was set at the hearing.

The motive of the shooting is still under investigation, but officials believe the friendship between Thatch and Qualls' wife, Jacqueline, may have led him to murder. Last month, James Qualls was arrested  for a domestic dispute he had with his wife. Officials believe he has been unhappy with the two women's friendship for some time.

Quall's next court date is set February 7.
