WASHINGTON -- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was officially named to a leadership position among Senate Democrats Tuesday.
Clinton was appointed by Minority Leader Tom Daschle to the Steering and Coordination Committee. The committee is geared to connect the caucus to the party's elected officials' organizations around the country.
She said she will focus on economic security, homeland security and rebuilding New York and the nation after September 11th. Clinton, elected to the Senate two years ago, has recently raised her national profile, speaking out on economic and security issues and pushing for an extension of unemployment benefits.
