Feig named Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance

JONESBORO, Ar - Arkansas State Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee has announced the appointment of Daniel Feig as Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance at ASU. Feig will fill the vacancy left by Nikki Lee who left ASU to become the Compliance Director at Auburn.

Feig comes to Arkansas State after practicing the past seven years as a lawyer in the Birmingham, Ala. area. He spent the last three years with the Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell firm as an associate attorney.

"I'm very excited about joining the ASU athletic department," said Feig. "I have the highest respect for Dr. Lee and everyone that I have met and I am looking forward to doing everything I can to help make the student-athletes experiences at Arkansas State the best they can be."

Prior to his post with Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, Feig served as an associate attorney with Carr, Allison, P.C., also in Birmingham. During his time at both firms his primary duties included products liability, premises liability, breach of warranty/contract, trucking, workers' comp labor and employment, insurance and securities fraud, insurance defense and professional malpractice.

"We are very happy to have Daniel Feig come aboard at Arkansas State," said Dr. Lee. "He comes highly recommended and has extensive experience in the legal profession, which will translate greatly to his duties at Arkansas State."

He also had extensive experience interpreting statutes, administrative codes and case law while also serving as representation of clients in numerous trials and depositions.

He also served as the head soccer coach Homewood Soccer Club for the past three years while also coaching the JV and freshmen teams at John Carroll Catholic High School and serving as an assistant coach for the state champion varsity team.

Feig graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2003 with his Juris Doctorate Degree and earned his Bachelor of Arts, Political Science and Psychology-Sociology Degree at Birmingham-Southern in 1999. He also was a scholarship player on the Panthers' soccer team, which reached the Collegiate Final Four three times during his tenure.

Feig is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Birmingham Young Lawyers Association.

During his time in Birmingham, Feig was an Alumni presenter of pre-law studies and the impact of college athletics on the student-athlete to prospective students at Birmingham-Southern as well as participating in various other community groups.
