Drugs seized at Walnut Ridge Airport

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Walnut Ridge and Hoxie Police are on the scene of what they are calling a major drug bust at the Walnut Ridge Airport.

According to police on scene, an anonymous tip led to the search of the plane.

When police arrived they said they found 420 pounds of marijuana that carries a street value of around $420,000 dollars.

Police believe the twin engine Cessna was traveling though Region 8. They don't believe the drugs were intended for the Walnut Ridge/Hoxie area.

Two people have been arrested.
