Bond hearing Wednesday for ex-con in McNair case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A bond hearing is Wednesday for a convicted murderer accused of selling the gun used to kill ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

Scheduled to appear before a U.S. magistrate is 33-year-old Adrian J. Gilliam Jr. of La Vergne, Tenn.

He is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Court documents say he admitted selling a 9 mm Bryco/Jennings to Sahel Kazemi for $100.

Police have said Kazemi shot McNair at his condo July 4 before killing herself.

Gilliam, a car salesman, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. In 1993 he was convicted in Florida of murder and attempted armed robbery.

Police have quoted Gilliam as saying he bought the gun for protection after his home was burglarized.
