CONWAY, Ark. -- Governor Huckabee says that taxing Internet purchases may be a source of income to help the state pay for education improvements.
On a statewide call-in show on the Arkansas Educational Television Network Thursday night, Huckabee said he supports an initiative by the National Governors Association that would tap the World Wide Web for revenue.
He said the current tax system is based on a 1950s manufacturing economy and that taxes on online sales in the new economy should be considered.
