Man shot in head, killed in Evening Shade

EVENING SHADE, AR (KAIT) - Sharp County Sheriff's Office says a man is dead after being shot in the head Saturday.

Deputies responded to the call at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening on Highway 56 in Evening Shade. When they arrived, they reported finding 48-year-old Eulogio Garcia on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Responders transported Garcia to a staging area, where he was then airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. He was pronounced dead there Sunday morning at 3:00 a.m.

Garcia's body has been sent to the Arkansas Medical Examiner's office for autopsy. Meanwhile, Sharp County Sheriff's Department reports that the investigation continues.
