LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Both Arkansas and Arkansas State have a running back on the watch lost for the Doak Walker Award, the schools said Tuesday.
The award goes each year to the top running back in Division I football.
At Arkansas, judges for the award will be watching Michael Smith. Last season, Smith amassed 1,072 yards on 207 carries and scored eight touchdowns.
At Arkansas State, Reggie Arnold will get the judges' scrutiny. He enters his senior year as the third-leading rusher among active players with a career total of 3,210 yards. Last season, he totaled 1,117 yards and seven touchdowns on on 197 carries
