Former Vols players to lead team in maxims

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Tennessee is bringing new emphasis to Gen. Robert Neyland's famous seven maxims.

The team has traditionally recited the axioms in the dressing room, prior to games.

As part of some game day changes this season, a former Vol football player will lead the recitation before each contest.

Coach Lane Kiffin said he wants the current team members to know what the proverbs have meant to those who wore the orange and white before them.

Among the tips from the old master - "Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes."
