JONESBORO, AR - With its first game exactly one month away, the Arkansas State football team reported Wednesday for the Red Wolves fall camp that will include 25 practices leading up to its first game week of the 2009 season.
The day began at 9:00 a.m. for the players when they were issued equipment, went through housing check-in and underwent impact testing in the computer lab. The Red Wolves held a team meeting Wednesday as well and will hold several orientation meetings throughout the day Thursday.
The Red Wolves' annual Football Media Day will be held Friday, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the ASU Football Complex. ASU will also hold its first practice Friday at 5:15 p.m. and will conclude its fall camp Aug. 29 with its annual Fan Appreciation Day.
"I'm very excited about opening fall camp 2009," said ASU Head Coach Steve Roberts. "It's a great day to get everybody back on the same page and back where we can have contact with our players. We'll get busy with all the orientation sessions, position meetings and that type stuff before our first practice Friday."
The ASU football team kicks off its 2009 season at home against Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 5 at ASU Stadium. Season tickets for ASU's five home games are on sale at the ASU Ticket Office.
