Kennett High School starts new program to help students.

JONESBORO, Ark (KAIT) - Kennett High School teachers will be starting to out the new year learning about something different to help their students! Under a school improvement program called "High Schools That Work," teachers and staff members in Kennett will start reviewing initiatives that could help their students.

"One of the things we want to bring here to Kennett High School is the advisory program. Often in high schools kids get lost in the shuffle when they have seven different classes. An advisory program allows teachers to get involved to mentor certain students," said Ed Sibenhuener, Principal of Kennett High School.

Another program they would like to start is a transition program to help students "transition" into ninth grade, into high school, and into their future after they graduate.
