Razorbacks open practice

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino said the emphasis Thursday when the Razorbacks held their first fall practice was on "our technique and our fundamentals."

The team worked out in shorts and helmets on the practice fields.

"It was good to get out on the field," Petrino said. "We certainly didn't do everything right, but I liked our enthusiasm."

Freshmen and other newcomers to the team worked out for an hour before the veterans joined in. The entire squad practiced together for another two hours.
