Paragould Meth Bust


PARAGOULD, AR. (KAIT)- A meth bust in Paragould Thursday night led to four people being charged and arrested Friday

Criminal Investigator, Patrick Lenderman, of the Greene County Sheriff's Department, said they had received information on a meth lab in the residence of Dexter Smith of Paragould.  With the use of an informant who purchased meth from Smith's home, authorities were able to confirm the tip.

Investigators found  Coleman fuel, lye, fertilizer, and lithium batteries among other components in the residence and also in a vehicle in front of  Smith's home.  The manufactured meth was contained in a two-liter bottle.

Dexter Smith was charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance, one count of criminal attempt to manufacture meth, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphanalia.  His bond was set at $250,000.

Along with Smith, were Elma Rae Martin, Erica Gouedy, and James Utley. Each were charged with criminal attempt to manufacture meth.  Their bonds are set at $50,000.

The four will face the judge at the district court in Paragould on Monday.
