Highway crash sends woman, 2 children to hospital

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An afternoon accident sends one woman to the Med in Memphis and 2 children to St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

According to Arkansas State Police, 28-year-old Andrea Lynn Fallis was driving with two children northbound on Highway 63 near Washington Avenue when she ran into the back of a parked flat-bed vehicle holding new guard rails for the road, which were being installed. The vehicle was in a lane of traffic closed to traffic.

Fallis was removed from the SUV with the jaws of life by responders on the scene. She was then airlifted to the Med in Memphis by Air-Evac.

The 9-year-old and 1-year-old boys in the car with Fallis were taken to St. Bernards Medical Center, according to State Police.

The Arkansas State Police accident report lists weather conditions at the time of the accident as clear, with roads dry.

In addition to state authorities, Jonesboro Police and Fire also assisted at the scene.
