SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) - Newly acquired right-hander John Bannister has been activated with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Bannister was added to the active roster Saturday after being acquired earlier in the week by the Kansas City Royals off of waivers from the Texas Rangers.

Bannister spent a portion of this season with AAA Oklahoma City, the Rangers' top affiliate in the Pacific Coast League.

The Tucson, Ariz.-native fills the active roster spot of left-handed reliever Gilbert De La Vara, who was placed on the 7-day disabled list.
