Region 8 to receive $3.6 million for ice storm recovery

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The January ice storm toppled thousands of trees and power lines across Region 8.

On Tuesday the U.S. Forest Service announced $3.6 million in federal stimulus money has been allocated for cleanup and repairs from the ice storm.

The money will go to the state Forestry Commission for work in 30 counties including: Clay, Cleburne, Conway, Craighead, Cross, Fulton, Greene, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett, Randolph, Sharp and Stone.
