Tackling hurts Rams in preseason loss to Falcons

ST. LOUIS (AP) - All the tackling the St. louis Rams did in training camp meant little to their bottom line in their second preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta's starters trampled the Rams defense in the first quarter Friday night and went on to win 20-13.

Michael Turner broke a 43-yard run on the second play and had 65 yards on seven carries with a 1-yard score in his lone series, while Matt Ryan was 7 for 8 for 81 yards and a touchdown.

On Saturday, St. Louis coach Steve Spagnuolo was blaming himself. Spagnuolo said he doesn't think he had the team ready in the first quarter.

Spagnuolo didn't say what changes he would make off a short turnaround for Thursday's game at Cincinnati.
