Red Wolves Fan Appreciation Day set for Saturday

JONESBORO, Ark. (8/24/09) - Arkansas State football will hold its annual Fan Appreciation Day Saturday, Aug. 29 at ASU Stadium.

Free hot dogs, courtesy of Kroger, and Pepsi will be available to the first 1,000 fans present.  Posters and schedules will also be available to fans, along with kid-friendly activities at the stadium.  An autograph session with the players will take place on the concourse at the conclusion of practice.

While ASU will not play a live scrimmage, fans will have an opportunity to see the Red Wolves simulate game situations in full uniform.  Practice will begin at 9:30 a.m., while Fan Appreciation Day festivities begin at 10:00 a.m.

"We are very excited about the upcoming season, and this event kicks off the year for Red Wolves football," said ASU Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Gleen Hart.  "This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation to fans for their support of ASU football, and we look forward to seeing them in the stands."

The Red Wolves' season gets underway Sept. 5 when ASU hosts Mississippi Valley State in a 6:00 p.m. game at ASU Stadium.  The A-State vs. MVSU game will also be designated as the "Paint the Stadium Red" game, and all fans are encouraged to wear red in support of the Red Wolves when they kick off the season against the Delta Devils.  The game will also be designated as "Scout Day," with all scouts in uniform receiving free admission.
