"I thought for having the first days of class and all that stuff and being the first day back on the field they flew around a little bit and we tried to energize them as much as we could and keep things going. It was not where it could be, but we're going to keep working on it and we'll be fine."
On Alex Tejada in the scrimmage:
"I thought he was pretty good. I thought the scrimmage was a pretty good day for him. I thought he was looser and he swung the leg better and everything worked better."
On using freshmen on special teams:
"Coach will take a look at that and decide. If there is a guy he is thinking about redshirting of course we won't use that guy, but those decisions are made. It is a way to get them on the field and get them started on their process of being able to play a lot more before the year is out."
On the punters:
"I still think it is a good fight. (Briton) Forester is a little bit more consistent right now. Like I've said before, you really hate putting your marbles on a freshman who has never been in a stadium like this in front of a crowd and all of a sudden they are kicking the ball. You'd like to break them in a little bit and bring him along a little bit slower."
On the intensity of practice:
"I felt a little bit more intensity out of our guys today. They were pretty serious when they sat in meetings today and then when they came to the field. They know camp is over and now it is prep time."
