Bison Soccer Falls 4-1 at Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - University of the Ozarks' Brandon Van Cleave scored on his team's first shot of the game to lead the Eagles to a 4-1 victory over the Harding men's soccer team Tuesday.

Ozarks (1-0), playing their first game of the season, added a goal by Dylan Evans in the 34th minute and led 2-0 at halftime.

Harding (0-3) pulled to within a goal in the 54th minute, as junior Gabe Alexander headed home a corner kick from freshman Josh Ireland. It was Alexander's first goal of the season and second of his career.

Tanner Holman answered right back for Ozarks with a goal less than two minutes later, and Philip Johnson scored on a header in the 83rd minute to close the scoring.

Junior James Thurmond had four saves in goal for the Bisons.

Harding held a 12-10 shot advantage, but Ozarks improved it's record against the Bisons to 7-0-1 in eight matches.

Harding will play its third consecutive road game Thursday at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.
