WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) - A suspect is under arrest for alleged involvement in the August 15 triple shooting that left three men hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

18-year-old Tyrenzie Knighten of West Memphis is under arrest in connection with the Saturday evening shooting, according to police. They say more arrests are expected and the investigation is continuing.

In a release to Region 8 News, police say they received a call at about 8:20 p.m. that a shooting had taken place in the 600 Block of South Redding. Police discovered a 2000 black Lincoln wrecked in a wooded area with three men who had been shot. All three were taken to the Regional Trauma Center (MED), two by ambulance and one by helicopter.

Police think an AK-47 style assault rifle fired at least 30 rounds, along with at least 30 from a 9mm Mac-10 machine pistol. Other shell casings were found in the area by police.

Police ask that anyone with information on either of these cases call Crittenden County Crime Stoppers at 732-4444, or the West Memphis Police Department at 735-1210.
