Walnut Ridge decides future of suspended animal control officer

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT)- A decision has been made on the future of a Walnut Ridge city employee who tased a dog while attempting to pick it up.

Walnut Ridge city council member Paula Haskins tells Region 8 News Robert Rice will no longer have anything to do with animals in the city.

Rice who had been on administrative leave since the incident on August 20th will serve as the full time Code Enforcement officer in the city-- effective yesterday.

Kyle Riggs, who has been filling in as the animal control officer, will be doing that position full time.
