Greene Co. housing market jumps in July

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The housing market is seeing gains in Greene County, according to a July report from the Arkansas Realtors Association.

Compared to July, 2008, Greene County saw a 40% increase in houses sold. In July 08, the report says 30 houses were sold. This year, 42 were.

Home prices actually rose about $1,800 in Greene County too, on average.

The county is only 4 house sales behind from 2008 for this time last year.

Other counties are seeing a mixed bag. Craighead County reported a 10% decline from the previous year, while Crittenden and Independence Counties were up 5% and 17% respectively.
