ASU's Roberts to speak at Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon

JONESBORO (9/10/09) - Arkansas State Head Football Coach Steve Roberts will speak at the next Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel located on Chenal Parkway in west Little Rock.

A buffet lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m and will be followed by the program featuring Coach Roberts at noon.  Lunch is $15 for members and $25 for non-members, and the price for those just attending the program portion of the luncheon is $10.00.

Roberts, who led ASU to a 61-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State last week in the Red Wolves' season opener, will be the fourth of 11 guest speakers slated to attend one of this year's Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheons.

Roberts, in his eighth season as ASU's head football coach, led the Red Wolves to the 2005 Sun Belt Conference championship and to bowl eligible seasons three of the last four years.  During his first seven seasons as the Red Wolves' head coach, he guided ASU to 37 wins for its most over a seven-year span since 1985-92.  Roberts was named the 2005 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year.

Under Roberts, the Red Wolves have had 64 All-Sun Belt Conference selections, an SBC Offensive Player of the Year, two SBC Defensive Players of the Year and an SBC Newcomer of the Year.
