JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A state agency is seeking public comments on a draft document about improving water quality in waterways in the Viburnum area of east-central Missouri.
Indian Creek, Tributary to Indian Creek, and Courtois (KOH'-tuh-way) Creek are located in Crawford, Washington and Iron counties.
The Department of Natural Resources has determined the waterways are impaired due to lead and zinc and do not meet water quality standards.
The department says the public is encouraged to comment on the proposed improvements. Written comments will be accepted through Oct. 7.
