Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) - Parents are making sure their child is riding safely.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children between the ages of 2 and 14. Eighty percent of children are riding unsafely in their child safety seats.

Saturday at the old Indian Mall on Caraway, parents lined up to ensure their children's safety as part of the Child Passenger Safety Seat Check Event.

State Farm Insurance along with local law enforcement instructed parent s on proper installation and requirements of their child's safety seats.

State Farm Representative, Gary Stephenson says Jonesboro is always the biggest turnout for this event.  He says it really shows how much effort local law enforcement and Dimensions have put into getting the message out.

The next event scheduled for Jonesboro is December 5th.
