Eighth annual ‘Boyer Mile’ set to begin Tuesday at ASU

JONESBORO, Ark. (9/13/08) - The Arkansas State Red Wolves women's basketball team will begin the eighth-annual "Boyer Mile" preseason conditioning program Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the ASU running track located adjacent to the Convocation Center and Tomlinson Stadium-Kell Field.

The "Boyer Mile" will run for four consecutive Tuesdays, wrapping up with a post-run party Oct. 6.

Any ASU fan who is not a high school athlete (grades 9-12) is invited to join head coach Brian Boyer and the Red Wolves women's basketball team to participate in the four-week training program.  While the Red Wolves will be running a timed mile, anyone wishing to run or walk may join the team, making the conditioning program more enjoyable for the athletes while at the same time promoting fitness in the community.

For the fourth consecutive year, the "Boyer Mile" will add a "competitive division" timed group run, and a "fitness division" for those more interested in a walking/light workout.

Each participant will receive a t-shirt and be treated to a post-mile party October 6.  There is no cost to participate in the program.

Boyer Mile Schedule

September 15 - Opening Night/Timed Mile (6:00 p.m.)

September 22 - Timed Mile (6:00 p.m.)

September 29 - Timed Mile (6:00 p.m.)
