LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Legislation to create a committee to define what constitutes an adequate education continues to work its way through the Legislature.
In ordering the state to improve its public schools, the Arkansas Supreme Court told the state to define elements of an adequate public school education.
The House Education Committee Tuesday approved a bill to create an eleven-member committee to do the study. The bill was originally approved by the House and later amended in the Senate.
The change in the Senate would allow the committee to report September 1, two months later than in the original bill.
