Arkansas announces basketball suspension

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas basketball coach John Pelphrey will suspend at least one player for 2-3 games following a rape investigation of 3 members of the team that did not result in criminal charges.

The school released a statement from Pelphrey on Thursday outlining punishment for "those individuals who have violated team rules." The release did not name the players involved, and Pelphrey said he could not disclose specific punishments toward individual players because of federal privacy laws.

In addition to suspension, the school said it would require educational programming, community service and additional conditioning.
