WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Following a trend at many other colleges in Arkansas, Williams Baptist College is the latest to release fall enrollment numbers that show increases from the previous year.
According to the news release, 615 students are enrolled at WBC this semester, representing an 8.1% increase from the previous fall year. The main campus has an enrollment of 518, up 3.8% compared to last fall.
"We are very pleased with these enrollment numbers, especially in such a slow economy," said Williams President Dr. Jerol Swaim. "It is encouraging that so many students and their families continue to see the value of Christian higher education, even in trying economic times, and to make that investment in their future."
"We are off to an exciting start to the school year," Swaim noted. "With the opening of Manley Chapel, all the new faces we see in the student body and this great enrollment picture, we have much to be thankful for at WBC."
Williams is a four-year liberal arts college. It offers over 25 majors across a variety of academic fields.
