Foothills Parkway closed overnight 2 nights

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) - There will be two overnight closures of the Foothills Parkway this week.

National Park Service spokesman Bob Miller said the section of the parkway between Interstate 40 and U.S. 321 in Cosby will be shut down Tuesday night and again Wednesday night. The closures will begin at 8 o'clock and the road will be reopened by 7 a.m. the following day.

An engineering consultant will drill a series of core samples to plan the repaving of the road in the Smokies foothills.
