JONESBORO, AR - The sixth annual ASU Open is set to kick off a weekend full of Homecoming activities Oct. 23 at Sage Meadows in Jonesboro.
The competition will be divided into three divisions: an open division for anyone wishing to compete; a championship division for winners of the Scarlet Scrambles in Newport, Paragould, Blytheville and Osceola; and a lettermen's division for former ASU athletes.
The ASU Open will be a four-person scramble, and trophies will be awarded to first and second place in each division. The entry fee is $90 per person or $360 per team. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and play will begin with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided on the course.
"The ASU Open is a great way for fans to start the Homecoming weekend," said Brad Pietz, ASU Assistant Athletic Director for Development. "We had alumni from Florida, Virginia and Texas play in the event last year, and I expect it to be the same case this year.
Homecoming is a special time on campus, and we believe the ASU Open is well on its way to being an integral event to kick off the weekend."
