Region 8 woman arrested in boyfriend's stabbing death

HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. (AP) - A 47-year-old woman is being held in the Phillips County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend.

Jamie Otey is accused in the weekend death of 43-year-old Curtis Chairse.

Authorities say Chairse was stabbed in the abdomen with a pocketknife at about 3 a.m. Saturday in front of his home in Lake View. A family member took Chairse to Helena Regional Medical Center and he was later taken to The Med in Memphis, where he died.

Otey is being held on $100,000 bond.
